Help Build an Owl Sculpture!

When

  • Saturday, May 18, 2019 - 10:00am to 2:00pm

Make a feather art project! Come attach yours to "An Owl's Perspective," a Great Horned Owl sculpture by Gail Katz-James.

A temporary 7-ft.tall, 3D sculpture in the shape of a great horned owl will be installed at the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge this spring. The community is invited to participate in constructing this sculpture at the free Urban Birding Festival celebration at the Refuge Visitor Center in Bloomington on Saturday, May 18. Join us to "make a feather" to be used in the sculpture between 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and stay for the final "reveal" by the artist from 3:30 - 4 p.m.

The sculpture will be on display just outside the Visitor Center for 1 - 3 months, depending on how the weather affects it.
