86th St and Nicollet Ave - Creative Projects meeting
Tuesday, October 15, 2019 - 5:30pm to 6:30pm
As part of the City of Bloomington's neighborhood focus initiative, and Bloomington and Artistry's Creative Placemaking efforts, the intersection of 86th Street East and Nicollet Avenue was identified as a potential site for a creative project(s) to enhance the area. This intersection is embedded within a primarily residential neighborhood, along the 86th Street bike path, consists of four transit stops that are well-utilized, and close to senior housing, businesses, and schools. The goals are that the selected project(s) will help beautify the area and improve the pedestrian experience. An initial survey provided preliminary information and direction to get a better idea of what type of creative project people would like to see here.
The intention of this first meeting is:
- Overview of survey results
- Discuss next steps
Creative Placemaking Director Alejandra Pelinka will facilitate the discussion. We will provide pizza and salad for dinner.
People who live or work within walking distance of this intersection and want to participate in selecting projects are encouraged to participate. Please RSVP by October 14, and let us know of any dietary restrictions: firstname.lastname@example.org or 952-563-8744.
Please arrive a few minutes early to get settled in.
*Please note, this meeting was rescheduled from October 8 to October 15, since there is a Community Center Input meeting scheduled on October 8 at the same time. Apologies for any inconvenience.
