Latina Network for Early Education

A recent community gathering was held and attended by members of the Minnesota legislature, Hennepin County Board, Richfield City Council, Bloomington School Board, and numerous community members to discuss the work of the Latina Network for Early Education.

When it came to the health and school readiness of their children, the Bloomington and Richfield Latino communities noticed a gap as compared to other children back in 2013.

With support from the Public Health Division, Latina leaders developed a network of family, friends, and neighbors who care for their children and began offering monthly training opportunities on health and early learning. This Latina Network for Early Education is member-led and thriving. More than 250 Latino childcare providers have received training to improve the quality of care and early education.
