For immediate release on 9/28/21

On 09/27/2021 at approximately 9:50 am Bloomington Police Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a male putting a body into an outdoor dumpster at an apartment complex in the 8900 block of Wentworth Avenue.  An officer arrived and confirmed the location of a deceased female.  The officer was alerted to a vehicle leaving the parking lot.  Additional officers attempted to stop the vehicle on Nicollet Avenue.  The driver did not stop and was pursued into Minneapolis. 

The pursuit concluded near Nicollet Avenue and 46th Street.  A one-year old child was located in the vehicle. The child was evaluated by medical responders and was released to Child Protection Services. There were no injuries as a result of the pursuit.  With the assistance of Richfield PD, Minneapolis PD, Edina PD, and MN State Patrol a suspect was taken into custody. 

Guuleed Ahmed Abdilahi, 23 years old is currently being held at the Hennepin County Detention Center on probable cause 2nd degree homicide.  The victim and the suspect were known to each other.  The victim’s identity will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
