2017 Optimist Club Officer of the Year Officer Heidi Miller

Police honored

The Bloomington Police Department recently held its annual Behavior Recognition Awards to honor those who went above and beyond in serving the community last year. Among those honored was 2017 Optimist Club Officer of the Year Officer Heidi Miller, pictured at left with Chief Jeff Potts. As part of the Bloomington Police Department since 1992, Officer Miller has served in many roles. She’s worked in property crimes, investigations and is currently in the crime prevention unit. Officer Miller is the face of BPD—she writes, directs and hosts the department’s cable television show, Roll Call. She also leads training sessions for businesses and residents, is the police liaison for businesses and was integral to the success of the 2015 National Night Out.
