The Working in a New Normal (WiNN) team recently conducted a survey to determine training needs. More than 120 employees responded to the survey.
Respondents listed Webex, Jabber and Excel as the top three software applications where training is needed. Outlook, Munis, and High Performance Organization training also ranked highly. The WiNN team took some time at its March 25 meeting to discuss the results and come up with a plan to address the training needs.
“First, we’d like to make you aware of some online training resources currently available. The City is licensed for Skillsets Online and LinkedIn Learning. Both systems provide a wide variety of software and professional development courses. If you would like to learn more, visit CityBIZ and select the Tools menu,” Chief Information Officer Amy Cheney said. “YouTube also offers several videos on software usage that you might find helpful. In addition to those options, IT is offering a virtual presentation class on April 14 that will address some Webex tips. You should have received an email with details.”
The Executive Leadership Team is also working on a compressed HPO course led by City Manager Jamie Verbrugge, which will be available in the next few months. WiNN will be publishing weekly tips in the Daily Brief emails.
