Dwan Golf Course turns 50
Dwan Golf Course, 3301 West 110th Street, turns 50 this year. On July 11, 1970, the 18-hole golf course opened to an eager crowd. Today, Bloomington celebrates this welcoming golf course, one of the city’s well-known attractions and amenities. Players of all abilities enjoy its 5,500 yards of rolling greens and tree-lined fairways.
One week after the course opened, resident Mike Freemark was hooked. He became a Dwan regular for more than 40 years. Along the way, he has made many friends, joined the Dwan Men’s Club and made six holes in one.
“I enjoyed playing golf all the time,” Freemark said. “Dwan has always been well kept and well run.”
Everyone is welcome to play at this public course. Look for details about Dwan’s 50th anniversary celebrations in future issues of the Briefing or on Facebook at blm.mn/DwanFB. For more information, visit blm.mn/dwan or call 952-563-8702.
