CenterPoint Powers Up Bloomington Fire Department Safety Training with Grant

For the Bloomington Fire Department, safety is no accident. Hours upon hours of training go into making sure firefighters know how to keep themselves and others safe in emergency situations. This task will be easier now thanks to a $2,500 community partnership grant from CenterPoint Energy that will help fund new rescue manikins for training purposes.

“All of us here at BFD really appreciate this grant from CenterPoint. It will make a real difference for firefighters and residents,” Bloomington Fire Chief Ulie Seal said.

CenterPoint Energy’s community partnership grant program awards funds to local communities to provide safety-related equipment or projects.

“At CenterPoint Energy, our top priority is to encourage safety awareness and safe practices in our communities,” Diane Englet, senior director of community relations for CenterPoint said. “Through these types of grant programs we’re able to stay connected with our emergency officials and aid them in keeping our neighbors and communities safe.”
