Jefferson Area Safe Routes to School Project - 2016

The City of Bloomington, Bloomington Public Schools and Hennepin County are currently developing plans for future pedestrian crossing safety improvements for three school crossing locations within the Hubert Olson Elementary and Middle School, and Jefferson High School walking boundary. These three locations have been identified and prioritized based on expressed concerns from the residents and crosswalk users, development of Safe Routes to School Plans for these schools, and review of existing data at the sites, including crash data, pedestrian counts, volume counts, etc. The three crossing locations are:

  • Old Shakopee Road (CSAH 1) at Kell Avenue
  • France Avenue (CSAH 17) at Heritage Hills Drive
  • Johnson Avenue at the Jefferson driveway
