Road Closures



Westbound W 86th Street Closure

Westbound W 86th Street will be closed at Nicollet Avenue on August 21, 2018 for approximately 5 days for gas main installation.  A marked detour will be provided.

W 87th Street Closure

W 87th Street, west of Nicollet Avenue South, will be closed on August 20, 2018 for approximately 3 days for gas main installation.  A marked detour will not be provided.

Westbound 102nd Street Closure

Westbound 102nd Street will be closed from Portland Avenue to 3rd Avenue starting Wednesday, August 15 for approximately 3-4 weeks.  One lane of traffic will remain open for eastbound 102nd Street traffic.  Side street access will also be closed to and from 102nd Street in the location of the closure.  A detour will be provided that utilizes Nicollet Avenue, 98th Street, Portland Avenue and 104th Street.  This closure is needed for gas main installation as part of the CenterPoint Energy Beltline Project

W. 78th Street Closure

A closure of W. 78th Street and Normandale Service Road between Viking Drive and Computer Avenue has been scheduled to begin Tuesday, August 7.  The closure is expected to last three weeks to accommodate road construction as part of the 2018-102 PMP Street Maintenance Project.  Motorists can expect to be detours via Viking Drive and Computer Avenue.  Access to businesses south of Viking Drive and west of Computer Avenue will be maintained via the southbound Normandale Service Road to eastbound W. 78th Street.  

Old Cedar Avenue Closure

Old Cedar Ave from Old Shakopee Rd to the Old Cedar Avenue Bridge is currently under complete reconstruction. This work is anticipated to be complete in the fall of 2018.  In this area, Old Cedar Ave, including the parking lot, will remain closed to all vehicle, foot and bicycle traffic, for the duration of construction for the protection of both the users and construction crews.  The closure includes access to the Old Cedar Avenue Bridge.

The Old Cedar Avenue Bridge remains closed, and will be closed until approximately November 2018.
