I-494 bridge over the Minnesota River
Monday, March 10 - late October 2025
MnDOT is doing work on the I-494 bridge over the Minnesota River. The regional trail running parallel to WB I-494 between Pilot Knob Rd. and American Blvd. will be closed for reconstruction.

France Avenue (from 90th Street to the Marsh Lake Playfields entrance)

Bridge replacement over Nine Mile Creek begins July 14th.
Hennepin County will replace a deteriorating bridge on France Avenue (County Road 17) over Nine Mile Creek in Bloomington, just north of Normandale Community College. The project is scheduled to begin July 7 and will last about 8 weeks.
A half-mile section of France Avenue, from 90th Street to the Marsh Lake Playfields entrance, will close to all traffic.
People driving will be able to access the Marsh Lake Playfields and the Bloomington Archery Range from the south, using 98th Street to reach France Avenue.
The shared-use trail on the west side of France Avenue will remain open for people who walk, bike, and roll.
The posted detour for through traffic uses I-494, Normandale Boulevard (County Road 34), and Old Shakopee Road West (County Road 1).
Work is scheduled to be complete in late September. All dates are tentative and weather dependent.

Portland Ave (Between American Blvd & E 81st St)
Wednesday, August 20 - Wednesday, October 1, 2025 (approximately)
Portland Ave will be closed between American Blvd and E 81st St due to roadway reconstruction and utility work for the I-494 Project (MnDOT).
A marked detour will be provided.

York Ave (Just East of Abbott)
Monday, September 15 - Thursday, September 18 (approximately)
York Lane will be closed on just east of Abbott for a emergency repair of a sanitary sewer line.
