Veterans Memorial FAQ

The City recently released a request for qualifications (RFQ) for a Veterans Memorial, and made a commitment to provide a regularly updated list of answers to any questions arising from the RFQ.  Questions and responses will be posted on this page as they become available.

Question:

We have completed a large scale veterans memorial for a municipal client but it was completed almost 12 years ago.  Can you confirm how stringent requirement is for all projects to be completed in the last ten years?

Answer:

We are adhering to the qualifications specified in the request for qualifications.  Therefore, that project example would not meet that requirement.

Question:

Can an artist/design team submit an RFQ if they are currently working on their first veterans memorial project valued above $300,000, but it will not be completed before the deadline?

Answer:

For this size project we really are looking for artists/teams who have had experience with the complexities of large scale work, project management and budget.  If you have at least one key team member who will have oversight responsibilities (including management of the budget) and who has experience working on a commissioned outdoor memorial or historic monument project of at least $300,000, then your submission would be eligible.
