Protect water: Adopt a storm drain

Help preserve and protect Bloomington’s water. Adopt a storm drain. Autumn is a great time to get started. As leaves fall, they can get into storm drains and flow directly to local watersheds. Anything other than rainwater going through storm drains can potentially degrade bodies of water. The algae that feeds on leaves can turn wetlands, ponds and lakes green.

You can help by participating in the adopt-a-storm-drain program. The program is free and only takes a commitment of a few minutes, a few times a year, to clean out a storm drain. The effort makes a difference in your community. To sign up or for more information, visit adopt-a-drain.org.
