The City of Bloomington is hosting a Home Energy Workshop for Bloomington homeowners, on Thursday, August 31, 6:30 – 8 p.m. at the Black Box Theater, Bloomington Civic Plaza, 1800 West Old Shakopee Road.

The event centers on three, 10-minute presentations from expert speakers addressing the Time of Sale Energy Disclosure ordinance, home weatherization, solar power, and at-home electric vehicle charging. After the presentations, attendees can choose to learn more about topics covered in the workshop based on their interest in small group discussions. Two free Home Energy Squad visits, intended to help solve energy issues at home, will be raffled off. A light dinner will also be served.

“We want to encourage Bloomington homeowners who purchased a home since the Time of Sale Energy Disclosure Ordinance went into effect on April 1, 2022, to attend, but people thinking about purchasing a home in Bloomington and those interested in energy efficiency upgrades are all welcome,” said Jamila Boudlali, a City of Bloomington sustainability specialist and one of the event coordinators.
