CANCELLED: Saving Water and Money with Lawn Irrigation Systems
Thursday, April 9, 2020 - 3:00pm to 5:00pm
This event is for commercial or non-profit water-irrigation users. Improving system efficiency through maintenance and smart water products may reduce water bills.
Water bills increase as treatment costs rise. Companies can decrease water usage and cost with a more efficient system. Most irrigation systems are less than 50% efficient. This leads to over-watering and potential turf and plant damage. Many systems lack smart technology. Simple rain sensors can shut down or reduce watering times by adjusting to the weather. Achieving a 40% reduction water usage is not unheard of and can lead to paybacks of one or two years.
If you currently have a system, learn how to tune it and if you are considering adding smart components to reduce costs, learn about the various options and costs.
Toro will host the event and they have been manufacturing and installing cloud based, weather sensing systems for years and participants can take advantage of their years of experience to learn how to decrease their own costs. Use visitor parking in the North lot if available.
The City of Bloomington will be in attendance to discuss its programs and water benefits.
Afterwards, there will be a tour showcasing the amazing history of Toro.
This is the eighth in a series of business tours sponsored by the Bloomington Sustainability Commission.
