COVID-19 related closures, cancellations and modifications

Call 952-563-8700 (M – F, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) if you have questions about accessing City services.

As of 4:30 p.m., Friday, March 20, all City facilities including Bloomington Civic Plaza are closed to the public until further notice to help slow the spread of COVID-19. Staff will continue to provide some City services by appointment.

Bloomington Fire Department

  • The Fire Department is suspending the following non-emergency services until further notice:
    • Fire prevention presentations
    • Fire station tours
    • Fire truck visits
    • Home safety Inspections
  • Smoke and CO alarm installation assistance will be on a case-by-case basis.

Bloomington Public Schools

  • Closed through the end of spring break, Friday, March 27
  • Distance learning will begin for all early childhood to grade 12 students on March 30.

Motor Vehicle services

  • Tab renewals can be processed by mail or at the drive-by drop box in the west parking lot at Civic Plaza.
  • All other services are halted through at least March 31.

Passports

  • Unavailable through at least March 31
