Powerful Tools for Caregivers


  • Tuesdays, July 23 - August 27 - 3:00pm to 5:00pm

This program provides caregivers with a wealth of self-care tools to help take care of themselves while caring for a loved one. Participants learn to communicate their needs to family members and healthcare/service providers; identify and reduce stress; communicate more effectively in challenging situations; recognize the messages in their emotions; deal with difficult feelings; and make tough caregiving decisions. Participants will receive a copy of The Caregiver Help-book, developed specifically for the class and set personal goals to increase self-care and improve their health and wellbeing. Based on the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program developed at Stanford University.
