Notice of Public Hearing: To Consider Ordinances Amending the City Charter - Sections 2.05 and Chapter 5

The Bloomington City Council will hold public hearings on Monday, November 29, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Bloomington Civic Plaza, 1800 West Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington, Minnesota, 55431, and by electronic means as permitted by Minnesota Statutes Section 13D.021 or other applicable state law and with some council members appearing electronically as permitted by Minnesota Statutes Section 13D.021 or other applicable state law, to consider two ordinances that amend City Charter sections 2.05 and Chapter 5 related to vacancies in offices and making improvements in furtherance of the efficient administration of local elections and the initiative, referendum, and recall processes.  The text of the proposed amendments is provided below.  

How you can participate 

As permitted by state law and due to the global COVID-19 health pandemic, this public meeting will be held in the Council Chambers and available virtually.

To provide public comment

There are three ways to comment or testify during the public comment period of a public hearing.

1.  Phone in during the meeting.

  • Dial phone number 1-866-801-8457, conference ID 9945127 prior the start of the item you wish to speak on.
  • Provide the operator with the item number and name listed on the agenda. You will be placed on hold and your line muted until it is your turn to comment or testify. 

2 .Contacting the Council Secretary prior to the meeting.

  • Include the item number and name listed on the agenda.
  • Include your name, phone number and address when leaving a voicemail or email. 
  • Voicemail and emails must be received by 2 p.m. on the day of the City Council meeting.  
  • Please indicate if you also plan to call in during the meeting to provide live comment or testimony.
